 In 1999 heb ik op Euphonium auditie gedaan bij het Nationaal Jeugd Fanfare Orkest (NJFO). Naast de concertreis naar Novo Mesto (Slovenië) en Shladming (Oostenrijk), was mijn optreden als solist voor de CD-opname van “Windows of the World” een hoogtepunt.
In 2002 heeft het NJFO een muzikale bijdrage geleverd voor de studio-opname voor de film “Ja Zuster, Nee Zuster”, naar het gelijknamige werk van Annie M.G. Schmidt. (Geen familie!)
In 2003 heb ik deelgenomen aan de concertreis met de “Jügend Bläser Phillomoniker” naar o.a. Lugano (Italië) en Interlaken (Zwitserland).

A word up front
In 1999, I auditioned for Euphonium at the 'Nationaal Jeugd Fanfare Orkest (NJFO)' (National Youth Fanfare Orchestra). Aside from the journey to Novo Mesto (Slovenia) and Schladmich (Austria), my solo appearance on the CD-recording of "Windows of the World” was a highlight.
In 2002, the NJFO has made a musical contribution to the studio-recording for the Dutch movie "Ja Zuster, Nee Zuster", a movie after the works of Annie M.G. Schmidt. (Not related, though!)
In 2003 I contributed to a concerttour with the “Jügend Bläser Phillomoniker” to, among other places, Lugano (Italy) and Interlaken (Switzerland). |

Vanaf 1999 tot 2001 heb ik de vooropleiding gevolgd op het Conservatorium te Utrecht. In het laatst genoemde studiejaar werd ik aangenomen voor de vakopleiding Klassieke Muziek met als hoofdvak Euphonium bij docent Piet Joris.
In 2005 behaalde ik mijn Bachelor diploma voor Docerend Musicus. Op 16 mei 2007 ben ik afgestudeerd aan het Fontys conservatorium te Tilburg voor de Masteropleiding Uitvoerend Musicus, wederom bij Dhr P. Joris.
In de afgelopen studiejaren heb ik Euphonium-masterclassen gevolgd bij o.a. Steven Mead en Brian Bowen. Ook heb ik deelgenomen aan verscheidene workshops gepresenteerd door de tubaïsten Jonathan Sass, Patrick Sheridan en wijlen Donald Blakeslee.
Naast de Euphonium studie, heb ik gekozen om de F-tuba te leren bespelen en heb ik bij een aantal gastdocenten waaronder Hendrik-Jan Rennes, Bernard Beniers en in maart 2009 bij Roger Bobo masterclassen gevolgd.
Vanaf januari 2009 ben ik begonnen met de Bachelor opleiding HaFa-directie bij dirigent Alex Schillings.

Musical education
From 1999 to 2001 I joined the preface-course at the Conservatory of Utrecht. At this course I was selected for professional education in Classical Music with a major in Euphonium with tutor Piet Joris.
In 2005 I graduated as Bachelor of Arts as Teaching Musician. I graduated on the 27th of May at the Fontys Conservatory of Tilburg for the Mastercourse Operational Musician, again with Piet Joris as tutor.
In the past years of study, I participated in Masterclasses with Steven Mead and Brian Bowen. I also joined several workshops presented by tubists Jonathan Sass, Patrick Sheridan and late Donald Blakeslee.
Aside from the Euphonium study, I have chosen to learn to play the F-tuba. With this instrument I also participated in Masterclasses by Hendrik-Jan Rennes, Bernerd Beniers and in march 2009 by Roger Bobo.
Since januari 2009 I started with the Bachelor course for conducting by conductor Alex Shillings. |

 Van 2002 tot 2004 was ik remplaçant bij het Trompetterkorps der Bereden Wapens. De concertreizen naar Bremen (Duitsland), Washington, Norfolk en Virginia Beach (Verenigde Staten) waren in deze periode de hoogtepunten.
In november 2004 heb ik wederom als remplaçant, gespeeld bij de Marinierskapel der Koninklijke Marine tijdens de Doelenconcerten te Rotterdam.
Vanaf 2004 ben ik als Euphoniumspeler werkzaam bij het Trompetterkorps der Koninklijke Marechaussee. Hoogtepunten waren de concertreizen naar: Berlijn (Duitsland 2004), Ystad (Zweden 2005), St. Petersburg (Rusland 2005), Adelaide (Australië 2006) en Halifax (Canada 2007).
In februari en maart dit jaar heeft het Trompetterkorps een succesvol tournee gemaakt in Rotorua, Auckland en Wellington (Nieuw Zeeland). In juli heeft het Trompetterkorps zijn taptoe-show in Hamina (Finland) opgevoerd.
Naast mijn werkzaamheden als beroepsmuzikant bij defensie, ben ik docent bij de harmonie St. Andries uit Groessen.
Vanaf januari 2008 ben ik dirigent van Brassband Crescendo uit Wilp en sta ik als muziekdocent garant voor de jeugdopleiding.

Employment
From 2002 through 2004 I was substitute at the Trumpet Corps of the Mounted Arms. The concerttours to Bremen (Germany), Washington, Norfolk and Virginia Beach (USA) where the highlights during this period.
In November 2004 I was yet again as substitute, employed at the Marine Band of the Royal Netherlands Navy during the 'Doelenconcerts' in Rotterdam.
From 2004 I was employed as a Euphoniumplayer at the Trumpet Corps of the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee. Highlights of the period are trips and tours to: Berlin (Germany 2004), Ystad (Sweden 2005), St. Petersburg (Russia 2005), Adelaide (Australia 2006) and Halifax (Canada 2007). In february and march this year, the Trumpet Corps did a succesfully concerttour to Rotorua, Auckland and Wellington (New Zealand). In july the Trumpet Corps bring his tattoo-show in Hamina (Finland).
Aside from my employments as a professional musician at the Dutch Defense Department, I'm engaged as a tutor at harmony St. Andries in Groessen where I provide private lessons.
As from January I'm conducting the "Brassband Crescendo" in Wilp and as tutor I'm responsible for the junior's course.
